Ickleford Squash Club

Welcome to the web site for Ickleford Squash Club. If you are already a member I hope you find these pages useful. If you are a potential new member then have a look around and I hope you like what you see, find out more and join.

Ickleford is a village just outside of Hitchin on the border of North Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire, UK. The club is a non-profit making organisation, established to provide sports facilities for the local area.  We attract members from Hitchin, Letchworth, Stevenage, Luton and the surrounding areas.  The club has two well-maintained squash courts, a bar, sauna and a very friendly atmosphere.

The squash club currently has 80 - 100 players of varying standards and ages, so new members are almost certain to find other players around their own ability.

There is an active league structure and competition schedule, as well as various social events throughout the year.  The leagues are open to both men and women, with normally 5 players per league which start/finish on the last Sunday of every month.  Most of our squash tournaments are handicapped and use American scoring so that players of different abilities can compete together on an equal basis.

The Squash Club has developed an on-line booking system for court reservations, which has proved to be very popular amongst members.  This system enables members to view and book squash courts up to 3 weeks in advance from home, the office, at the Club or anywhere they have Internet access.  ISRC is one of the few squash club's in England to offer such a facility.

The club runs an open night every Sunday evening, except bank holiday weekends, between 7pm and 9pm.  These sessions are free of charge and are open to both existing members and anyone interested in joining the club.  They offer an ideal chance to meet other players, see what facilities the club has to offer and provide opportunities for informal training and friendly games to help improve your play.  Just turn up on the night or get in touch to find out further details.

As well as squash, there are ladies football, cricket and petanque team.
